This video begins with our host Julie Ashton entering the Hustlers store. There she meets DR Patti Britton and as the pair are surrounded by an array of sex toys they naturally beginning to discuss them. What they offer is a quick guide to the type of toys that a couple might think about exploring and why. The emphasize in this section is that toys can really enhance a couples sex life something that I whole heartily agree with. Each of the featured toys is picked and shown in the introduction for a reason as becomes apparent as the video and scenes follow. Personally I would have liked to see a little more detail on the type of materials that are out there but that's just me because I love my toys -)) The intro ending leads into the first scene when Julie tells Patti about a weekend she spent exploring toys when her best friend and his partner came to stay with her and her boyfriend Devan. We are then magically transported back to that weekend as Julie and Devan await the arrival of their weekend guests.

As they wait for their guests arrival, Julie and Devan explore the delights that ordinary household items can bring while they take a dip in their hot tub. I really wasn't sure about the pizza cutter and judging from Devan's face neither was he-)) The turkey baster and pastry brush are put to great effect on both partners along with a shop brought clitoral stimulator. Like all good first scenes this really set the video up and was fun and sexy to watch. Before they can finish though their guests arrive and they get dressed and go greet them.

After the introductions are over Julie shows the couple to their bedroom where there are a couple of surprises waiting for them. I wish I had a friend who would just leave a Rabbit Pearl, Hitachi Magic Wand and a Bullet vibe for me and Hubby when we went to visit because like this couple I wouldn't be able to resist trying them out. What unfolds next is a very hot scene that includes, wait for it.... foreplay! Yes, we actually see them undress and have fun with the toys whilst still wearing some clothes. Now that's something you don't see in many typical sex videos and as a women I really appreciated this as I'm sure many others will too. There were also several good pointers and tips incorporated here like the way they used a washcloth to dull the sensations when they became too intense. I also liked the fact that the couple really had fun with the toys that were given them, and used them as a combination for maximum pleasure.

After all the fun in the bedroom and some lunch our intrepid couple decide to take some scenery in and set off on a drive, but not before Julie presents them with a rabbit pearl. Again this was a great scene and at least they pulled over before the fun got really hot as they tried out their pressie. This scene was very much about fun and he can be seen enjoying the feeling of control as he takes over the remote and tests out the functions. You can actually almost feel the tension as he takes almost to orgasm and then brings her back down several times.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Julie and Devan are having some fun of their own. This one is tastefully done as a female I never felt threatened as I watched this unfold. The whole scene is given a dreamlike quality via camera tricks and is extremely well done. In this scene Julie joins her best friend and partner in bed, at least in their heads and we are treated to the visual that ensue. This is a scene that I think both men and women alike will enjoy and it may even fuel more fantasies and open up discussions, even if it doesn't it's likely to make you want to jump your partner there and then!! Don't say I didn't warn you -))

What's it all add up to?
I loved the way this video incorporated fantasy with the reality of using sex toys. There were times when the acting was hammy but in many ways it added to the whole thing rather than detracting from it. I know I learnt something from watching this video and yet I didn't feel like I had been preached to about using sex toys. What the Alexandra institute did beautifully was mix reality with fantasy, education with fun and experimentation with togetherness as a couple. Most of the mainstream videos I've watched only ever show a women alone using a toy, here the emphasis was on couples, and how instead of taking away from both partners enjoyment the use of toys could enhance the experience. The video had a continuity that I enjoyed in that all the sex toys that were discussed in the intro where shown and used in the following scenes. This is one video I would recommend to all couples who have ever thought of exploring sex toys but never have for whatever reasons.
