First
Impressions:
I really wasn't sure what to expect when
I opened the package that the Femini shaver
arrived in but was greeted by an object
that resembled a toothbrush as I delved
through the packaging. Packaged in a see
through plastic box I was actually quite
delighted by the design of the femini at
first glance. It sat well in the palm of
my hand and the on/off switch was simple
to operate. Would it do the job and tame
my bush which had been allowed to become
more unruly than I would normally allow
so I could give this a true test?
The
Test:
The Femini comes complete with one AA battery
so I tuned it on and was surprised at the
power it delivered. Billed as safe, I decided
to test this claim before I put it anywhere
near my, ummm, more delicate body parts
and ran the blade across my hand. I'm happy
to report there is no way with the design
of the Femini that you can cut your hand
or anything else come to that . I got a
bit carried away and ran it across the front
of my wrist, where it happily shaved the
fine hair on my arms, whoops! You actually
have to angle the blade against your skin
in order for it to cut, and of course that's
what I did. You can safely try this at home
but be warned that once you start you need
to finish the job or risk wearing a stripe
up your arm -)) The cutting edge takes the
form of a comb like arrangement and it's
easy to see why this makes shaping using
the tool easy and safe when combined with
the overall design.
Satisfied
that this was safe for me to use on other
more delicate parts of my body, I set about
taming the bush. Trimming with this tool,
I soon discovered was a doddle. The design
made it easy to hold: always a plus when
your shaving areas that are not always the
easiest in the world to see. It wasn't long
before I had a love heart sculpture on my
mons, I have no idea why I chose that design
but it worked. It did take a bit of practice
and getting used to as regards being able
to actually shape lines but it wasn't that
difficult and the results we pleasing to
the eye. I did find that outlining the shape
I wanted in black marker made life easier.
[Make sure it's a on permanent marker please!]
I
did find that adding a little baby powder
into the equation helped but it wasn't really
nessacary. The femini provides a safe, clean
trim and it was easy to clean after use
another plus. It was simply a case of pulling
the blade casing open and brushing away
the small amount of hair that it contained.
I decided to go for the polished look and
added the Midas Touch 8000 personal shaver
into the equation at this point. Simply
running the Midas over the parts I had just
trimmed with the Femini. It wasn't actually
nessacary to do this but it just finished
the job for me as although the femini give
a reasonably close trim it's not quite as
close as the Midas 8000.
What's
It All Add Up To?
Another excellent product by Deak, I'm happy
to report is what this adds up to. Small,
compact and does the job as they describe
on their site. I discovered that this also
works well on your legs if your in a hurry
and you have a reasonable amount of growth.
[I was being lazy okay -))] Because it's
small you can easy put it in your travel
case or handbag which is a major plus in
my book. It is also designed to be used
in dry skin again another plus. If you go
with the marker method then I would make
sure you have access to water though.
Although
the femini on it's own gave a good clean
trim, for best results I would team it up
with the Midas Touch 8000 for an even cleaner
shave. I didn't end up with any of the annoying
bumps or soreness that can sometimes result
when you wet shave.
If
you're looking for a quick, convenient and
easy way to shave then you won't go far
with either the Femini shaver and combined
with the Midas 8000 you're onto a sure winner.
