It's
been over a year since I reviewed a product
called the Clean Cut personal shaver,
a product that I still use today by the
way. Recently it was brought to my attention
that the Clean Cut had evolved like so
many things in the past year and I was
offered the chance to try out the new
improved version, now know as the BodyBare.
Of course I couldn't say no, like many
women I love gadgets and I especially
like gadgets that are designed to make
my life easier in the shaving area, because
let's face it shaving is a pain.
So
I duly ordered the Body Bare and decided
to splurge on the stencils that are sold
as a compliment to the shaver. The first
thing that drew my attention was unlike
its predecessor, the Body Bare is rechargeable.
No more batteries, I was liking this already.
Like many I have a waterproof socket in
my bathroom and I duly plugged in my new
shaver and waited till the following morning
before proceeding with the ultimate test.
It takes 12 hours for the Body Bare to
reach full charge.
As
I knew I was going to be reviewing this
product I hadn't shaved for a couple of
weeks and my forest by this time was in
serious need of some taming. My first
puzzle was to work out how best to use
the stencils that I had ordered along
with my new shaver. The instructions weren't
that clear to be honest, and I was a little
confused by the fact that the instructions
themselves seemed to accompany a waxing
product as opposed to as shaver. I'm not
easily deterred though and it wasn't long
before I had it figured out. I decided
to try and create the smaller design and
placed the stencil on my pubic hair wondering
how on earth I was going to pull it off
but more on that later.
I
began with the Lady Fair, simply because
I had so much growth and gave my forest
a bit of a trim. Trying to follow the
design on the stencil was not really what
I would call fun at this point and to
be honest I was tempted to remove the
stencil there and then, but I stuck with
it and it wasn't long before I was presented
with a tidier forest but it still needed
some work for sure.
The
BodyBare has a nice shape to it that like
its predecessor makes it easy to hold.
I also loved the fact that the on/off
switch had been moved up to the top near
the foil. This made it easier to switch
on. I began to finish the job that I had
started with the Lady Fair a few minutes
earlier. If you've never used one of these
shavers, you are in for a treat. The thing
that I love about them is unlike wet shaving,
you cannot, because of the way the shaver
is designed, cut yourself. So you can
get into all those folds without worrying
about cutting those more delicate parts
of your body, which I personally have
become pretty attached to over the years!
This might sound indelicate but if you
have a less than smooth butt crack then
the Body Bare will take care of this area
as well.
I've
found the trick to get really smooth is
to use the shaver in a rotating movement,
rather than the conventional up and down
movement that wet shaving requires. Also
a small amount of baby powder can help
as having a completely dry pussy is essential
for best results. Leave your shower till
after you've finished shaving here for
best results.
It
wasn't too long before I had shaved the
areas that needed to be smoothed over
and it was time to reveal my new look
by taking of my stencil. At this point
I had visions of a tearing and tugging
of pubic hair but I'm pleased to report
this didn't happen, instead the stencil
just peeled right off. What I was left
with however was less than pleasing as
you can see below. I'm not sure what I
did wrong but rather than the sexy lightening
strip I was expecting, I ended up with
well, I'm lost for words here to be honest!
I tried using scissors to make it look
better but in the end I decided that simply
losing the lightening streak was a better
idea.
Fortunately
this didn't take more than a few waves
of the Body Bare and I was as smooth as
a babies butt.
What's
It All Add Up To?
The BodyBare lives up to its billing.
Like its predecessor it delivers a clean,
safe cut that leaves you smooth in the
right places. The main advantages the
Body Bare has is the fact that it's portable
and once charged the charge will last
for around a week if you don't use it,
making it ideal for holidays. I leave
mine plugged into the bathroom outlet,
so it's already for action.
I
was disappointed with the stencils to
be honest. I may try them again at a later
date but my initial results indicate they
are better when used with waxing products
than with the Body Bare. I would also
recommend if you do buy the stencils if
you have sensitive skin you try a skin
patch test twenty four hours before you
actually apply it. It had no adverse effects
on me but I shave a lot so my skin is
fairly tough when it comes to things like
this.
If
you're looking for a safe alternative
to wet shaving then the Body Bare offers
this for sure. It does take a while to
master the right way to shave with the
Body Bare but with a little safe trial
and error you will end up with a clean
shaven pussy without the risk of performing
your very own female circumcision. Unlike
many products tht proclaim to be new and
improved, the Body Bare actually is an
improvement over it's older counterpart.
It is worth noting here that if you live
outside the USA you will be unable to
use the BodyBare without an adaptor as
this is designed for the eletrical sockets
here.
