Nude
lubricant is another lube that falls into the organic
range but unlike others I've tried is oil based
which makes it unsuitable for use with latex condoms.
Ingredients:
Certified organic Co2 extracts of German Chamomile
Calendula and Seabuckthorn berry,
Organic sunflower seed oil,
Meadow Foam Seed oil
Apricot kernel oil
Palma Christi
Natural Beeswax
Sal Butter,
Shea Butter
Packaging
and Appearance:
The first thing that struck me about this lube was
the packaging. Unlike many of the other lubes I've
tried in the past, this has an air of sophistication.
The simple blue bottle has something of a grown
up feel to it that I think many other lube packages
lack. The flip top lid is easy to use which is always
a serious plus if you're groping for the bottle
in the dark or with the lights just dimmed.
Texture
and Smoothness:
As with all the other organic lubes I've tried this
had an opaque look when poured into my hand, but
as soon as it's dispersed or rubbed it becomes translucent.
The one thing I did notice was that it has something
of an oily texture and stays put at least on my
hands for quite a while. Infact the only way I could
remove it was to physically wash my hands. It has
to be said though, it did make a great hand cream
-)) It does have a smooth. silky feel to it, without
the spidering effect and I personally liked that.
Another
thing I discovered by accident was that when placed
in the fridge Nude took on a whole new life. As
it solidified it became more like the consistency
of an ointment. In some respects I liked this consistency
better as rather than having to pour it into my
hand I could simply place my fingers into the smaller
sample I was sent and apply, making things slightly
less messy. I only discovered this, because when
the package was delivered I was out and the Fed
Ex man deemed to leave the box on my porch where
it froze all day, so when I returned and opened
the package I found this consistency. It wasn't
until the package began to defrost that I found
the true consistency of the formula. I do still
place this in the fridge when I want sex without
the mess.
Taste
& Smell Test:
Nude has a very distinct taste and not one that
neither I nor Hubby was fond of. If you're looking
for a lube that can be used for oral play as well
then I wouldn't recommend this one. On the smell
front Nude passed with flying colors.
Stain
Test:
Passed with flying colors. No stain after rubbing
in and laundering on satin or cotton.
Solo Flight Test:
When it comes to solo sex Nude's constancy has some
major advantages over others. The oiliness makes
it long lasting and yet it's not sticky or really
greasy. Clean up is not as easy as with water based
lubes because it resists water and unlike water
based lubes cannot be reconstituted with water because
of this. What I did find good was that because of
it's constancy I didn't actually want to remove
it from myself, just my toys which is simply done
with a little warm water and soap.
I
was a little worried about using Nude on my silicone
toys but the manufacturer assured me this was okay
and would not cause any problems and I'm happy to
report they were right. At the same time I wouldn't
recommend using this on latex or cyber skin toys
as both are sensitive materials, but all other types
of materials passed with flying colors. Nude also
didn't dry my skin like other lubes have in the
past, instead it felt more like I'd applied a light
moisturizer and I liked that.
Nude
did have the advantage of standing up well to water
play fairly well. It took a lot of time for the
water to break down the oils and if you're looking
for something that can be used in the shower this
might be hat you were looking for.
Dual
Flight Test:
When it came to hand jobs Hubby liked Nude as well,
it was thick enough to be effective, without the
heaviness that some of the other oil based lubes
we've tried have in the past have had. Both of us
found this was also good when things became more
intimate and had longer lasting qualities than many.
Even anal play was good and Nude stood up well to
the rigors we put it through, we didn't have to
keep applying it in order to achieve that slippery
feeling that makes anal so much more comfortable.
One thing worth noting here is that if you use condoms
when engaging in any sexual activity then the only
ones compatible with Nude are those made from polyuthathane.
The
downside of Nude was the taste which was to be honest
unpleasant. I certainly can't recommend it for oral
and even Hubby was put off by its gum like taste.
Conclusion:
Nude is a nice lubricant and one that I adore using
when it comes to solo play. We tend not to reach
for it when we are playing together because we enjoy
oral sex and with Nude applied to be honest it's
not that pleasant an experience for the taster.
Another disadvantage is the fact that it can't be
used with latex condoms, which of course limits
many people whether playing solo or with a partner
as many like to place a condom over a toy when in
use for hygiene and safety purposes.
Nude
is a sophisticated lube though, from it's packaging
to the fact that its ingredients are all organic
in nature. I did like the fact that I felt comfortable
leaving this on my body after a play session something
that I'm not comfortable doing with many other lubes.
If
using a condom is something that you do, then this
may not be the best choice of lube for you, but
if that's not part of the equation and you're looking
for something natural that feels good and is long
lasting then Nude is something that I would personally
give a try. Hubby also enjoys this for solo play
and hand jobs because of its consistency and reports
the same things as I found above.
