The
mons pubis is the pad of fatty tissue and thick skin that covers
the lower area of a woman's abdomen, in the triangular area between
the upper part of the thighs and just above the vulva. Just underneath
it is the area of the pelvis where the pubic bones meet. After
puberty, the mons pubis is covered with pubic hair.
Men
have a similar fatty pad above the genitals, although it is not
nearly as apparent as in women, especially if a man is slender.
