Labia
minora are the flaps of delicate flesh that meet the hood of the
clitoris at the front of your vulva and run down either side of
the vaginal opening. They are nestled between the labia majora
which protect them. Size and colour vary enormously from woman
to woman. Some have labia that hang down five or more centimetres
from between their labia majora, others have labia minora that
are tiny and are little more than creases between the inside surface
of their labia majora and their vulva. Colour is not just race
related. Women can have labia any shade from light pink to dark
brown.
The
wearing of jewellery, in the labia minora is increasingly popular
though piercing must be done by an expert to reduce the risk of
infection. Cosmetic surgury on the labia minora is also increasing,
though from a low level. The most common procedure is the reduction
of larger structures or the evening out of asymetric pairs of
lips.
Most
say their labia minora are not especially sensitive though pulling
and stretching them can provide some variety during masturbation.
